In the $50,000 Arabian Cup Championship Juvenile Fillies, a Grade 1 stakes race at Delaware Park, Dreamfield's filly Love Me Dew came in third. She barely missed second, overtaken just near the wire in this mile long race.

Love Me Dew came in third just 1 1/2 lengths off first place in the $20,000 Betsy Ross Stakes for Three Year Old Fillies going 6 furlongs at Delaware Park. "Dew" came from far off the pace, picking off rivals, to make a strong close in the stretch just shy of the win. Her record is now 3(0-2-1)0-1.
(June 3, 2005 - Delaware Park)
Love Me Dew is now 2 outs 2 seconds looking toward the $20,000 Betsy Ross Stakes at Delaware Park on July 2nd.

The first U.S. bred Chndaka filly, Love Me Dew, out of the mare Sonoma Dew, rand her first race at Delaware Park in tough company. The 3 year old Burning Sands filly, Cath, took the lead from the gates while Love Me Dew was just getting the "feel" of her first taste of real competition. Cath had secured a solid 5 length lead on the pack when Love Me Dew found her way through to nearly catch Cath at the wire, securing second place, just a length behind. Also trained by Lynnett Hershbell and ridden by Jennifer Blamblett, Love Me Dew looks to make her next out a win. After her racing career, Dreamfield looks forward to adding "Dew" to their excellent band of broodmares.

Many thanks to Mats Genberg and Chatarina Nilsson for representing Santana HF in Europe and the Middle East and to those who bred to him during his first breeding season overseas. Darla and daughter, Lizzie, visited Sweden in May to see the first Santana HF foals born there this year. A dark bay colt, San Antonio (aka Tony), out of FH Honey Mellon, the full sister to Darley Horse of the Year, HT Sarah, was the first to arrive and the first to sell at 8 weeks to Swedish race trainers. Two more colts were born at Dag and Helen Ulvegarde's Onsala Arabians in late April. Onsala Arabians is internationally known as breeders of some of today's best European Arabian show and racehorses and their newest Santana HF additions out of these beautiful mares are no exception. After seeing these foals, Darla can say with confidence that Santana HF is consistently producing excellent confirmation, good bone and size, pleasant to beautiful type, sparkling/inquisitive personalities and willing attitudes promising tremendous heart.

(May 3, 2005 - Delaware Park)
Callies Rapido won his first out at Delaware Park handily against older horses, most of whom had several races under their "girths." Owner, Darla Ripley selected Delaware for "Rapido" because it is the toughest competition in the U.S. If Santana's offspring was going to make it racing anywhere, they had to make it at Delaware Park.
Callies Rapido is from Santana HF's first foal crop of 2002 and the first to race. Expertly trained by Lynnett Hersbell and ridden to a 5 3/4 length victory by jockey Jennifer Bramblett, Rapido made all involved with the Dreamfield breeding program proud.
